Man dies in horror car crash on Fife road

A young man has tragically died after a late night car crash on a dual carriageway in Fife.

Emergency services were called to the scene on the A92 between the Bankhead and Redhouse roundabouts at around 11.35pm on Thursday.

A 23-year-old was seriously injured after the car is understood to have flipped onto its roof between Glenrothes and Kirkcaldy.

The A92 was fully closed for around seven hours after the one-car accident (Fife Jammer Locations)

He was tragically pronounced dead at the scene.

A police probe into the one-car collision is ongoing and the road was closed for around seven hours for accident investigation work.

Cops are appealing for anyone who may have dash cam footage showing the silver Honda Civic around the time of the accident to come forward.

Sergeant Ewan Pearce of Glenrothes Road Policing Unit said: “Our thoughts and sympathies are with the family and friends of the man who sadly lost his life in this tragic incident.

“I am asking anyone who may have witnessed the collision, or the vehicle prior to the crash, to contact us if you have not already done so.

“We are also asking anyone in the area at the time to review their dashcam footage for anything relevant that could assist with our investigation."

Anyone with any information is asked to contact officers by calling 101 and quoting incident 4348 of 6 August, 2020.
