Man dies in Glasgow street after ‘taking unwell’

A man has sadly passed away after falling unwell on a busy Glasgow street.

Police and paramedics were called to the scene on Lyoncross Road, in the Pollok area of the city, at around 9.25am on Friday.

Despite the best efforts of the first responders, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The 66-year-old’s next of kin have been informed.

Police Scotland have confirmed that the death is not being treated as suspicious.

A force spokesperson said: “Officers were called around 9.25am to Lyoncross Road, Glasgow following a report a man had taken unwell.

"The 66-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene. There are no suspicious circumstances, and his next of kin has been informed.”
