Man dies in fatal fire as cops probe Dunblane inferno

A man has died in a Scots fatal fire sparking a major police probe in Dunblane.

Mercy crews raced to Perth Road and discovered a 57-year-old man dead at the scene.

The alarm was raised at around 1.35am as fire crews desperately battled the huge blaze.

Police are investigating the incident which is not thought to be suspicious.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Officers were called to the report of a fire at a property on Perth Road in Dunblane around 1.35am on Saturday, 19 June.

“Emergency services attended and the fire was extinguished by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service.

“A 57-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.

"Enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances, but it is not thought to be suspicious.”
