A man has died after falling from an apartment block in Manchester city centre.
Police were called to India House on Whitworth Street at around 2.35pm.
It followed initial reports of concerns for the welfare of a man at the building.
Paramedics also attended.
Witnesses reported a large emergency services presence at the scene.
Police said the man died despite the best efforts of paramedics.
In a statement, Greater Manchester Police said: "At around 2.35pm today, Monday July 22, police were called by the ambulance service to reports of a concern for the welfare of a man.

"It has since been established that a man fell from a building on Whitworth Street and despite the best efforts of emergency services, has sadly died."
It is understood he fell at the rear of the building.
No further details have been released.
The man's identity and age haven't been confirmed.
The death isn't being treated as suspicious.
Grade II-listed India House, a former packing and shipping warehouse now flats and apartments, is opposite an NCP car park around the corner from the Palace Theatre.
