Man dies in Falkirk house fire as police launch probe into blaze

A major police probe has started after a man was found dead inside a burning house in Falkirk.

Emergency services raced to Wilson Gardens, in Camelon, at around 8:20pm last night.

The 60-year-old's death is currently being treated as 'unexplained' and officers say his family are aware.

The property has been taped off and forensics are there combing the scene for evidence.

Floral tributes have been laid in the garden.

A Police spokesperson said: "Around 8.20pm on Thursday 8 April 2021 officers were called to a report of a fire at a property on Wilson Gardens, Falkirk.

"Emergency services attended and a 60-year-old man was pronounced dead. His family have been made aware.

"A joint investigation, with the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service, is underway, and the cause of death is currently being treated as unexplained. A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal."
