Man dies in early morning house fire as police launch investigation

A MAN has died following a house fire in South Ayrshire as police launch an investigation into the blaze.

Police were alerted to a fire at a property in the Willow Lane area of Troon at around 8.10am on Tuesday.

Emergency services attended the incident, and a man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) mobilised two appliances to the scene of the blaze along with an ambulance.

Police said that enquiries into the fire are still ongoing, but they believe there are no suspicious circumstances.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 8.10am on Tuesday, May 19, we received a report of a fire at a property in the Willow Lane area of Troon.

“Emergency services attended, and a man was pronounced dead at the scene.

“There are no suspicious circumstances, and enquiries are ongoing

An SFRS spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 7.33am on Tuesday, May 19 to reports of a fire in a residential property on Willow Lane, Troon.

“Operations Control mobilised two appliances to the scene.”

A Scottish Ambulance Service (SAS) spokesperson said: “We received a call at 7.51am to attend an incident on Willow Lane in Troon.

“An ambulance was dispatched, and one patient was treated at the scene.”
