A motorist died after driving off the road and crashing into a pole Monday morning in Crystal Lake in the northwest suburbs.
The 31-year-old was headed south on Route 31 about 7:20 a.m. when he hit an electrical pole at Ray Street, Crystal Lake police said in an emailed statement.
The driver of the 2009 Silver Pontiac Vibe was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
It’s unclear why the driver left the road. No other injuries were reported.
The McHenry County coroner’s office hasn’t released details on the death.
