A man has died in a crash on the M1 motorway in Co Louth.
The driver, who was in his early 30s, was killed following a collision between a car and a lorry.
The accident occurred on the southbound route between the Junction 16 exit for Dundalk and Junction 17.
A garda spokesperson said: "His body has been removed from the scene to the mortuary in Dundalk.
"The lorry driver (early 40s) was uninjured and was arrested at the scene. He is currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at Dundalk Garda Station.

"The scene is currently preserved and the services of Forensic Collision Investigators have been requested.
Part of the M1 is currently closed with diversions in place.
Traffic in Dundalk is very slow as a result.
AA Roadwatch said: "The M1 is closed southbound between the Dundalk exits J17 and J16 following an incident. "
"There are extremely long delays from before J17 onto the N52 and through Dundalk itself. It's also very heavy leaving the town centre on the Dublin Rd (R132)."
Gardaí in Dundalk are appealing for any witnesses to this incident to come forward and for any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling on the M1 at the time of the collision or prior to it, to make this footage available to them.
