Man dies following collision in Co Antrim

A man has died following a three vehicle road traffic collision in Co Antrim today.

Police closed a section of the Hillhead Road, Ballycarry, after 1.25pm today following reports of a collision between a Citroën Berlingo, a Ford C-Max car and a motorbike.

Sadly the motorcyclist died of his injuries at the scene.

Police have said that the Hillhead Road remains closed and motorists are being advised to avoid the area.

The PSNI is continuing its enquiries into the incident and an appeal has been issued to anyone who may have witnessed the collision or has dash-cam footage available to contact them.

Inspector Colin Ash said: “Shortly before 1:35pm, it was reported to police that a Citroën Berlingo, a Ford C-Max car and a motorbike were involved in the collision. Tragically, the motorcyclist died at the scene following his injuries.

“The Hillhead Road remains closed at this time and motorists are advised to avoid the area.

“Enquiries are continuing and police would appeal to anyone who witnessed the collision or who may have dash-cam footage available, to contact police on 101 quoting reference 912 26/02/21.”
