A 19-year-old man died says after he and another person were shot last week in Lawndale on the West Side.

The 19-year-old and another man, 26, were on the street about 9:30 p.m. August 14 in the 4000 block of West 18th Street when someone in a vehicle fired shots, Chicago police said.

The younger man was struck in the head and was pronounced dead Tuesday morning, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office. He was identified as Michael Pittman, of Humboldt Park.

Autopsy results found Pittman died from his gunshot wound and ruled his death a homicide, the medical examiner’s office said.

The 26-year-old was struck in the leg and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in fair condition, police said.

No one is in custody as Area Four detectives investigate.
