Man dies days after alleged one-punch incident at Hobart nightclub

The alleged incident occurred at the Mobius nightclub near the Hobart waterfront.

A 54-year-old man has died nearly a week after he was allegedly struck in the face during a one-punch incident at a Hobart nightclub.

Police said two men were arguing at Mobius Lounge Bar, near the waterfront, about 4.45am on Sunday, February 24.

It is alleged one of the men, an 18-year-old from West Moonah, hit the other in the face.

The 54-year-old was taken to hospital with a facial injury but his condition deteriorated and he was transferred to intensive care.

He died on the weekend.

The 18-year-old was charged with assault but police say that is now under review.

Investigations are continuing and post-mortem findings are being assessed.

Police would like to speak with anyone not already interviewed over the matter.
