
A man died hours after he was shot Saturday in the West Town neighborhood.
The 24-year-old was shot by someone who came up to him in an alley about 7:25 p.m. in the 2000 block of West Maypole Avenue, Chicago police said.
Struck in the abdomen, he was taken to Stroger Hospital in critical condition, police said.
He was pronounced dead the next day at 2:19 a.m., according to police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office. His name hasn’t been released.
Seven others were killed in gun violence over Easter weekend.
