Man dies after 'two men push him 12ft into river in cruel new social media trend'

Two men pushed a stranger from a bridge to his death so they could make a "funny" video for social media, it has been claimed.

Sickening footage shows a 48-year-old man as he desperately clings to railings above the Dnipro River in Ukraine.

Moments later he was pushed by the pair - both in their 20s - from a height of 12ft into the water where he died, unable to swim to safety.

The National Police in Ukraine angrily hit out at the appalling phenomenon of making cruel videos to get web clicks.

Deputy chairman of the country’s police force Vyacheslav Abroskin wrote about the incident on social media.

He said: “Dnipro police have located and detained two bastards, born in 1993 and 1996, who pushed a stranger into the river for the sake of filming a video with a mobile phone.

“The man was killed.”

The pair allegedly wanted to make "funny" footage involving their helpless victim to post on social media.
