Man dies after tragic kitesurfing accident on North Dublin beach

A man in his 30s has sadly died after a kitesurfing accident at Dollymount Strand this morning.

Gardai were called to the scene of a serious incident at around 9am this morning on the picturesque North Dublin beach.

The man was pulled from the water but was pronounced dead at the scene.

His body has been taken to the Mater Hospital where a post-mortem will take place.

A Garda statement read: "Gardaí were alerted to an incident at Dollymount Strand, that occurred shortly after 9am this morning, Saturday 31st October 2020.

"A kite surfer in his 30s had got into trouble in the water. He was removed from the water and was pronounced dead.

"His body has been removed to the Mater Hospital where a post-mortem is due to take place at a later date."
