Man dies after taking unwell at Anniesland Cross as police probe 'unexplained death'

A man has tragically died after taking unwell near Anniesland Cross.

Emergency services were called to the scene on Bearsden Road after being alerted at around 9.40am on Boxing Day.

A 57-year-old man was rushed to Glasgow's Queen Elizabeth University Hospital but sadly died later in the day.

Police have launched an investigation into the incident and say his death is currently being treated as 'unexplained'.

Part of the road remains cordoned off today.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 9.40am on Sunday, 26 December, 2021, police and emergency services were called after a 57-year-old man had taken unwell on Bearsden Road, near to Anniesland Cross, Glasgow.

"He was taken by ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow where he died later in the day.

"His death is being treated as unexplained at this time and enquiries are continuing.

"A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal."
