Man remanded in custody after stabbing stepfather

Police at the scene last night.

A 28-year-old man charged with murder over a fatal stabbing at Oaklands Park on Wednesday night has been remanded in custody after a brief appearance in the Adelaide Magistrates Court.

Samuel John Willis Caldwell was arrested after a 63-year-old man was stabbed multiple times in a house at Oaklands Park, in Adelaide's south.

Police believe Caldwell was the victim's stepson.

Police and paramedics were called to the Albany Crescent house just after 10:30pm, following reports of a serious assault.

A patrol found the man with several stab wounds and he was treated at the scene, before being taken to the Flinders Medical Centre where he later died.

Caldwell made no application for bail and will return to court in September.
