Man dies after South Coast crash on Princes Highway

A man has died on the South Coast after a Saturday morning crash on the Princes Highway.

Emergency services were called about 8.40am on Saturday morning to Bimbimbie, about 20 kilometres south of Batemans Bay, to the site of a collision between a Hyundai and a truck.

The man driving the Hyundai, which was heading north, is believed to be aged in his 70s and has not been formally identified, NSW Police said in a statement.

He was treated by paramedics but died at the scene.

A 49-year-old truck driver was treated for minor injuries before he was taken to Batemans Bay Hospital for mandatory testing.

The NSW crash investigation unit has started an investigation, and people with information about the crash have been asked to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

The Princes Highway remains closed in both directions between Tomakin Road in Mogo and Broulee Road in Bimbimbie.
