Man dies after single-vehicle crash near ACT border

A man has died in Canberra Hospital after the car he was driving crashed on Lanyon Drive, Jerrabomberra, south of Queanbeyan on Saturday evening.

Police are yet to formally identify the man, but believe him to be 25 years old.

Emergency services were called to the scene about 6.10pm. The man, who had been ejected from the car in the course of the crash, was taken from the scene in a critical condition but died in hospital a short time later.

His car, a black Renault Magane, was the only vehicle involved in the incident.

A crime scene was established by officers from the Monaro Police District, who are still investigating the cause of the crash.

Anyone who saw the car prior to the crash - or who may have dashcam footage from the area - is encouraged to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
