Man dies after serious crash in The Meadows, police confirm

A 42-year-old man who was involved in a serious crash in The Meadows has died.

The man was rushed to the Queen's Medical Centre following the crash, which happened near the Meadows Way West tram stop on Saturday, July 6.

He remained in intensive care with life-threatening injuries and police have today confirmed he died on Tuesday, July 9.

Two cars and a young child were involved in the incident and Meadows Way was closed by police for almost six hours while an investigation took place.

The young child was unhurt.

Residents had described hearing a loud "bang" and a woman with "blood running down her legs" at the scene.

A Nottinghamshire Police spokesperson said: "A file on the incident is being prepared for the coroner.

"Anyone who witnessed the collision is urged to call Nottinghamshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 261 of 6 July 2019."
