Man dies after quad bike accident on New Year's Day

A MAN has died after a quad bike accident on New Year’s Day in Argyll and Bute.

Emergency services were called to the Glencruitten area of Oban at around 10.25am on Monday following reports a 58-year-old man had been injured.

He was later pronounced dead at the scene and police have since confirmed that enquiries remain ongoing.

However, there are not thought to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding the death.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “We were made aware of a 58-year-old man injured in an incident involving an all-terrain vehicle in the Glencruitten area of Oban around 10.25am on Monday, January 1 2024.

“Emergency services attended and the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

“Enquiries are ongoing and the death being treated as unexplained but there are no apparent suspicious circumstances.

“A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal in due course.”
