Man dies after police attend East Kilbride property during major incident

A man has died following a major incident at an East Kilbride property.

Police Scotland confirmed the 59-year-old was seriously injured while officers attended the house last night.

A spokesman confirmed that he has tragically since died.

Police raced to Alison Lea around 4pm on Friday and locked down the property.

Numerous police vehicles could be seen on the street as an ambulance also attended the incident.

The exact circumstances of the incident are not yet known (Mark Dee)

Forensic officers were later spotted entering a property wearing white suits as locals described a woman being escorted from the house by officers.

One resident said: "There was a body found in Alison Lee.

"I saw a woman in late forties, shaking.

"She wasn’t cuffed but was escorted by two officers into the back of a police car."

Another resident added: "I seen loads of police surrounding the area and taping it off.

"I seen ambulances and and someone being brought out the house during the police attendance.

"I didn’t hear anything that was going on, I just seen loads of police everywhere and forensics going in and out of the house."

Cops are currently probing the circumstances surrounding the mans death.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 4.15pm, officers attended at a property in East Kilbride.

"A 59-year-old man was seriously injured and has since died.”
