Man dies after 'plunging from scaffolding' in Glasgow as emergency crews race to scene

A man has died after "plunging from scaffolding" in Glasgow. Emergency services raced to Grange Road in Battlefield after the alarm was raised at around 12.15pm on Sunday, August 4.

Ambulance crews attended but the 50-year-old man was tragically pronounced dead at the scene. It's understood horrified locals altered mercy crews after seeing the man's body lying on the ground outside their homes.

The area nearby is a site where flats are currently being built and a source told the Record the man fell from scaffolding. Police remained at the scene on Sunday afternoon while enquiries were carried out.

The death is currently being treated as unexplained, but there are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Police were called to Grange Road, Glasgow at around 12.15pm on Sunday, September 4, 2022, following the sudden death of a 50-year-old man.

“The death is being treated as unexplained but there are no apparent suspicious circumstances. A report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.”
