A man was killed in a crash on Interstate 55 last week on the Lower West Side.

Corby Skipper, 50, suffered blunt force injuries in the crash and was pronounced dead March 26 at 4:24 p.m. at Stroger Hospital, the Cook County medical examiner’s office said.

The crash happened about 8:45 a.m. March 25 on I-55 at Ashland Avenue, according to the medical examiner’s office.

Investigators determined Skipper lost control of his 2007 silver-colored Chevrolet Impala and drove off the road, striking a wall, Illinois State Police said. The car then veered across all lanes before coming to a stop on the right shoulder.

An autopsy ruled his death an accident, the medical examiner’s office said. He lived on the Near West Side.
