A man has died after a horror smash in the Highlands.
Emergency services were called to the A9 with the junction of B9176 in Alness at 5.11pm on Friday night.
A section of the A9 has been closed since reports of the incident.
Police have urged drivers to avoid the area as officer continue to carry out investigations.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “A man has sadly died after a road traffic collision on A9 with the junction of B9176 #Alness at 5.11pm today (Friday 29 November).
“Road is still currently closed whilst investigations are being carried out and motorists are thanked for their patience whilst this ongoing.”
