Man dies after horror fall from scaffolding at Glasgow building site

A 23-year-old man has died after falling from scaffolding in the centre of Glasgow.

The tragedy happened in Sauchiehall Street at around 5.50pm yesterday.

The man died at the scene.

Police are investigating, but say there are no signs of suspicious circumstances.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Police were called around 5.50pm on Friday, 18 September, 2020, following the report that a man had fallen from scaffolding on Sauchiehall Street, Glasgow.

"Emergency services attended and a 23-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.

"There does not appear to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding the death and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal."

Police and ambulance crews descended on the scene, but medics were unable to save the man's life.

The victim has not been identified.
