Man dies after horror crash in Trafford

A 43-year-old motorbiker has died following a crash in Trafford. Police have launched an investigation after a silver Mercedes C250 and a green Kawasaki motorbike crashed on Wythenshawe Road in Sale on Friday night.

The biker was taken to hospital following the smash at 6.45pm but sadly died. A section of Wythenshawe Road near Morrisons was cordoned off following the fatal incident.

The driver of the Mercedes remained at the scene and is said to be assisting police with their enquiries. GMP's serious collision investigation unit is appealing for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to come forward.

A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said: "We were called at 6.45pm on Friday, October 28, to a report of a collision involving a car and a motorbike on Wythenshawe Road, Sale. The rider of the motorbike – a man in his 40s – sadly died in hospital and an investigation is underway.

"His family are aware and our specialist officers will be supporting them. The driver of the car remained at the scene and is assisting our Serious Collision Investigation Unit with their enquiries."
