A 26-year-old man has died following a collision with a truck in South Australia's south-east.

SA Police said its major crash team is investigating the crash, which happened just before 7:30pm on Friday, May 14.

Emergency services were called to the scene at Wolseley, about 10 kilometres east of Bordertown, on the Dukes Highway, following reports that a b-double truck and a Mitsubishi sedan had collided head-on.

SA Police said when officers arrived, they found the truck had rolled and both vehicles were on fire.

The truck's driver, a 58-year-old man from the Barossa Valley, was taken to Flinders Medical Centre with what police said were "serious but not life-threatening" injuries.

The Dukes Highway remained closed on Saturday morning while the scene was cleared and the truck was towed.

Police said diversions were in place, but motorists should avoid the area if they can.
