A man has died after a fire ripped through a home in south east London.
Firefighters were called to a house fire on Bishops Avenue in Bromley at 5.46pm on Tuesday.
The fire was brought under control in just over half an hour but a man was pronounced dead at the scene.
The London Fire Brigade said a man was also treated at the scene by the London Ambulance Service after suffering from smoke inhalation.
The cause of the fire is being investigated by firefighters.
Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters from Beckenham, Sidcup and Old Kent Road Fire Stations rushed to the scene.
Hours earlier, around 80 firefighters also tackled a fire in Sidcup after a building that was under renovation caught fire.
The ground floor, first floor, rear extension and roof of a shop with flats above were destroyed by fire.
The roof and the first floor collapsed during the blaze, while part of the roof of an adjacent building was also damaged. There were no reports of any injuries.
The fire is believed to have been accidental and caused by hot works.
