A murder investigation has been launched after a man died following a street brawl outside a working men's club in Lancashire.
Barry Tyrie, 69, was found with serious injuries following the fight outside Regent Street Working Men’s Club in Haslingden.
He was taken to hospital, here he later died.
It is understood Mr Tyrie may have intervened in an argument between a man and a woman moments before he died, police said.
Four men - aged 57, 25, 30 and 31 - all from Haslingden, have been arrested on suspicion of murder.
They remain in custody.

Police are appealing for anybody who witnessed the incident, or saw Mr Tyrie earlier in the evening, to come forward.
Detective Chief Inspector Gareth Willis, of the Force Major Investigation Team, said: “We need to build a picture of what has happened through yesterday evening which has led up to Barry’s tragic death. My thoughts first and foremost are with his family and friends at this time.
“I am particularly keen to speak to anyone who was in the club between 9.30pm and 10.20pm and who may have witnessed Barry intervening in an argument between a man and a woman and also to anyone who saw the altercation outside the club.”
