Man dies after falling into grain bin on SA farm

A 77-year-old man has died on South Australia's far west coast after falling into a grain bin.

Police and emergency services were called to a farming property in Kalanbi just before 7:30pm yesterday.

Initial reports were that the man was trapped in machinery.

He died at the scene.

SafeWork SA is investigating the workplace death.

SA Police will prepare a report for the coroner.

In 2017, a man died after being crushed by a silo on the Eyre Peninsula.

A 12-year-old boy died after falling into a grain silo as it was being towed in Western Australia in June 2017.

The grain harvest on South Australia's west coast finished last month.
