Man dies after falling ill on bus in Belfast city centre

An elderly man has died after falling ill on a bus in Belfast city centre.

Emergency services responded to reports that he had taken unwell at Donegall Square West at around 10am on January 7.

A spokesperson for the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service said: "NIAS despatched two Emergency crews and one Rapid Response Paramedic to the incident."

They reported that no-one was taken from the scene.

Staff responded immediately to the incident.

Translink said: “A passenger was taken ill on board a bus at Donegall Square West this morning. Translink staff assisted and immediately called the ambulance service.”
