Man dies after falling from window at block of flats in Old Trafford

A man has died after he fell from a window at a block of flats in Old Trafford.

Emergency services were called to Empress Court, on Chester Road, just after 11.30am on Tuesday.

Members of the public performed CPR on the man and called paramedics.

The man was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. It is understood he fell from the ninth floor.

A spokeswoman for Greater Manchester Police said: "Shortly after 11.30am on Tuesday, April 30, 2019 police were called to Empress Court on Cornbrook Park Road, Old Trafford to reports that a man had fallen from the window of a flat.

"The man was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

"Enquiries into the circumstances surrounding the man’s death are ongoing and a file will be passed to the coroner."

Witness Wayne McCreery, 46, said: "I did CPR on him until the ambulance came. It was very shocking."
