A man has died after reportedly falling from a tower block in Sunderland.

Police were called to Lumley Tower, on High Street East, near the Port of Sunderland , just after 12am on Thursday with a call of concern for a man's safety.

When emergency services arrived a 24-year-old man was found outside the tower, and pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said the force is not treating the death as suspicious.
