Man dies after falling from top floor of Selfridges in front of horrified shoppers

A man has died after falling from the top floor of a department store, police have confirmed.

He was pronounced dead at the scene after the fall from the upper level of Selfridges, in Birmingham city centre.

The incident took place just after 7pm on Monday (January 10), reports Birmingham Live.

Paramedics could be seen entering the store at the city's Bullring shopping complex, in footage captured by an onlooking shopper.

Two ambulances were deployed.

The store has announced it will re-open on Wednesday.

The unnamed man's death is not being treated as suspicious and will be referred to the coroner for an inquest, West Midlands Police said.
