Man dies after falling from multi-storey car park in East Kilbride

A man has died after plunging from a multi-storey car park in East Kilbride.

Emergency crews raced to the car park near East Kilbride Shopping Centre at around 4:40pm yesterday evening but the man was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

Enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances around his death but it is currently not being treated as suspicious.

A spokeswoman for Police Scotland said: "Around 4.40 pm on Monday, December 2, officers were called to a report of a man having fallen from a multi-storey car park near a shopping centre in East Kilbride.

"Emergency services attended and the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

"Enquiries are ongoing into the circumstances around his death however it does not appear to be suspicious.

"A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal."
