Man dies after falling from Kilmarnock multi-storey car park

A man has died after falling from Kilmarnock's multi-storey car park.

Police were called to reports that a man had fallen from the top floor of the building shortly after 3.30pm yesterday afternoon.

The 42-year-old was rushed to Crosshouse Hospital shortly after but medics could not save the man.

Police confirmed today that there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the incident.

Officers guarded the scene for hours after the man was taken away from the scene.

Traffic was stopped from travelling past and entering the car park on James Shaw Crescent.

Vehicles were permitted to leave the multi-storey but a diversion was in place as vehicles could not travel past the Clydesdale Bank.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "Police Scotland were called to Kilmarnock's Foregate multi-storey car park on Wednesday, April 4 at 3.35pm after receiving reports that a man had fallen.

"The 42-year-old man was taken to Crosshouse Hospital by ambulance where he later died.

"There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the incident and a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal."
