Man dies after falling from cliffs near Rhossili in Gower

A man has died after he fell from cliffs near Rhossili in Gower.

The RNLI said they were alerted to the incident at around 10am on Sunday, July 26. They were told someone had fallen from cliffs above Mewslade Bay into the sea below.

Horton and Port Eynon lifeboat was launched.

"It made its way through choppy seas to Mewslade. The Air Sea Rescue Helicopter was also scrambled to Mewslade and, having located the man, winched him out of the water," said a spokesman for the RNLI.

"Sadly, the man was later pronounced dead."

The spokesman said the lifeboat remained in Mewslade for some time and carried out a search of the area in case someone else had been with the man and was in difficulty.
