A man has tragically died after falling from a cliff in Cork.
Emergency services rushed to the scene near Garretstown yesterday evening after the man accidentally fell from the cliff.
It's understood he's from the city and had been on a camping trip with some friends at the time.
Rescue divers were deployed to the area and recovered his body from the waters below.
The Cork County Fire Service, Garda, and The Coast Guard also attended the scene.
The man, 23, was removed to Cork University Hospital where a postmortem is set to take place.
A garda spokeswoman said an investigation is ongoing.
She said: "Gardaí attended the scene of an incident in Kinsale, Co. Cork yesterday evening, Saturday 24th April 2021.
"Local Fire Services and the Coast Guard also attended the scene. A male, aged in his 20s, was recovered from the water by rescue divers at Garretstown.
"He was pronounced dead at the scene and the Coroner was notified.
"His body was removed to Cork University Hospital where a post mortem is due to take place.
"Investigations are ongoing."
