Man dies after falling from cliff at popular sightseeing spot near Sydney

The man was bushwalking with friends in Clifton near Sea Cliff Bridge.

A young man has died after falling at a popular sightseeing spot just south of Sydney.

Police were called to the southern end of the Sea Cliff Bridge shortly before 12:40pm following reports a man, believed to be in his 20s, had slipped and fallen more than 40 metres onto rocks.

He was reportedly bushwalking with three other friends when the incident occurred.

Emergency services have retrieved the body.

The bridge was closed to traffic but cars are now being allowed across.

NSW Ambulance Inspector Matt Sterling said the man had succumbed to "traumatic injuries".
