A man believed to be in his 60s has died after entering a canal in Greater Manchester.
A huge emergency response was launched with the unnamed patient pulled from the water at Ontario Quay, Salford Quays, around 11am on Thursday.
Police, paramedics and firefighters rushed to the scene close to the Lowry Theatre and watersports centre at Pier 8 following 999 calls.
The man was taken to hospital but sadly died, reports the Manchester Evening News.
A witness said they saw a mobility scooter being loaded into a police van, with officers also bagging up other items.

Investigators are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident.
A Greater Manchester Police spokesman said: "Police were called just before 11am this morning (Thursday 18 November) to reports that a man had entered the water at Ontario Quay, Salford Quays.
"Emergency services attended, and a man believed to be in his 60s was taken to hospital, and despite the best efforts of paramedics, pronounced dead a short time later.

"Officers are currently at the scene and are working to establish the circumstances around what has happened.
"Police aren't looking for anyone else in connection with this incident, and enquiries are ongoing."
Photos show police tape on the water front, as well as a smaller cordon blocking off a canal footpath nearby.
A woman who works nearby told local reporters: "I looked outside and saw about five fire engines, half a dozen ambulances, and loads of coppers before an ambulance headed towards the hospital with a police escort so I knew it must have been bad.
"I'm really sorry to hear that the man involved died."
Cordons were later removed and the final police officers left the scene around 1.30pm.
