A 19-year-old man has died after getting into difficulty in the sea close to the pier at St Anne's.
Emergency services were called to the scene at around 7.20pm on Friday, July 23 after reports of a person drowning.
HM Coastguard attended and the man, 19, from Preston was rescued from the water and taken to Blackpool Victoria Hospital but died a short while later.

Three other casualties were taken to hospital to be treated for water inhalation.
The man’s next of kin are being informed and a spokesperson from Lancashire Police said: "Our thoughts are with his loved ones at this time."
Enquiries are ongoing to establish the exact circumstances surrounding his death, but police have confirmed it is not currently being treated as suspicious.
It comes after on Tuesday, July 20, one man died after five men got into difficulty swimming at Crosby beach.
The man who died after an incident has been named as Hamza Mansoor, who was in his 20s.
A second man in the group is also described as being in a critical but stable condition in hospital, by Merseyside Police.
Lancashire Police are now appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward.
