Man dies after car crashes into tree north of Canberra

A 73-year-old man has died after a car crashed into a tree north of Canberra.

Emergency services were called to Wallaroo Road, Wallaroo, about 7km west of the Barton Highway at 6pm on Monday.

Officers found the car had crashed into a tree and the driver had suffered fatal injuries.

A crime scene was established as officers from the Hume Police District commenced an investigation.

A report will be prepared for the coroner.
