Man dies after being struck by train in Glasgow

A man has died after being hit by a train in Glasgow at the weekend.

Officers from the British Transport Police (BTP) and paramedics were called to Muirend station in the Muirend area of the city at around 9.15am on Sunday, January 26.

Sadly the male was pronounced dead at the scene following the incident.

Cops probing the death say they are not treating it as suspicious. His family have been informed of his death.

Following the incident ScotRail trains in the area were disrupted for several hours.

A BTP spokesman said: "At 9.15am on 26 Jan, officers were called to Muirend station following a report of a casualty on the tracks.

"Paramedics also attended however a man was sadly pronounced dead at the scene – his family have been informed.

"This incident is not currently being treated as suspicious and a report will be made to the Procurator Fiscal."
