A man has died after being struck by a car this morning.
The horror accident happened at around 3am on Wednesday on the A78 in Inverkip.
The 40-year-old victim was pronounced dead at the scene by police on Inverkip Road.
The 38-year-old driver of a silver Rover car was uninjured.
Sergeant Mark McGowan said :"Our thoughts are with the man’s family and friends at this tragic time."
Investigations into the crash are ongoing and I would appeal to anyone who was in the area at the time and saw a man walking to contact officers on 101, quoting 0361 of 19 August".
