Man dies after being hit by vehicle on Glasgow street

A pedestrian has died after being struck by a car on a Glasgow street.

The 57-year-old man was crossing Mount Vernon Avenue, near to , when he was hit by a black series vehicle at around 5.50pm on Wednesday, December 4.

Police and paramedics attended the however the male was pronounced dead at the scene.

Following the crash the 25 year-old driver of the car was arrested in connection with and later released pending further enquiries.

A report on this incident will be forwarded to the Procurator Fiscal.

Officers from Police Scotland are now appealing for witnesses to come forward if they have any information.

Sergeant Andrew Mair of the , based at Helen Street, is urging people who may have dash-cam footage to inform the cops as they may be able to assist the ongoing investigation.
