Man dead after being hit by train between Glasgow Central and Partick

A man has died after being hit by a train between Glasgow Central and Partick.

Scotrail announced a suspension of services travelling between the two stations following the incident yesterday evening.

British Transport Police have today confirmed a man in his 50s was found dead at the scene. His death is not being treated as suspicious and his family have been informed.

A spokesperson told Glasgow Live: "British Transport Police were called at 4.55pm on 03/06 to an area of railway near Pointhouse Road, Glasgow, following a report of a casualty on the tracks.

"Sadly, a man in his 50s was pronounced dead at the scene.

"The incident is not being treated as suspicious.

"His family have been informed and a report will be prepared for the coroner."
