Man dies after being hit by lorry in Swansea city centre

A man has died after being hit by a lorry near the main Tesco store in Swansea city centre.

Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward after the incident happened at around 8.05pm on Monday (September 7), on Wellington Street, Swansea.

The man, who was a pedestrian, was hit by a Scania lorry and taken to Morriston Hospital with serious injuries, where he later died.

A spokeswoman for South Wales Police said the family of the a 56-year-old local man are being supported by specialist officers.

Police want to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident or who saw the vehicle or the pedestrian in the moments prior to it and are urging them to contact police.

Officers would also like to hear from anyone who has dash-cam, mobile phone or CCTV footage which could assist the investigation.
