Police are appealing for information after a pedestrian died after being hit by a van near a motorway roundabout.
Emergency services were called to the A4067 in Morriston between the roundabout for Junction 45 of the M4 motorway and the A48 Clase Road, at around 2.40am on Friday.
Police said a man was involved in a collision with a white Mercedes van.
A spokesman added: "Unfortunately the pedestrian, a 48-year-old local man, was declared deceased at scene.
"Specially-trained officers are supporting the man’s family at this time."
The road remained closed for several hours while investigations were completed.
South Wales Police also thanked members of the public for their patience and understanding at this time and apologise for any inconvenience caused.
South Wales Police is appealing for anyone who witnessed a man walking on the A4067 in the vicinity of McDonald's, or witnessed the manner of driving of a white Mercedes Sprinter van and also anyone with dash cam footage to ring 101 quoting occurrence number 2000350736.
