A man has died after being found unresponsive at a home in Easington Lane.
Emergency services including paramedics and the fire service were called to Greenfinch Road in the early hours of Wednesday morning following reports of concern for a man.
Sadly, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Northumbria Police have said they do not believe there to be any suspicious circumstances.
A spokesperson for the force said: “At about 4.15am police received a report of concern for the welfare of a man at an address on Greenfinch Road in Easington Lane.
"Emergency services attended and a man was found unresponsive, he was sadly pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.
"There is not believed to be any third party involvement and the man’s next of kin has been informed.
"A report will be prepared for the coroner in due course.”
