Man dies after being found under car in Bristol

A man found trapped under a parked car has died in hospital.

Officers closed a stretch of Southmead Road last Wednesday night (February 3) after an incident between Doncaster Road and Wellington Hill.

A 33-year-old man from north Bristol was found trapped under a parked car at about 5.20pm. He was freed and taken to hospital.

An Avon and Somerset police spokeswoman said on Friday that the man remained in hospital with very serious injuries.

She told Bristol Live today (February 10): "The man involved in the incident on Southmead Road on February 3 has sadly died."

The matter has been referred to the coroner.

The force spokeswoman said there is no criminal investigation and no other vehicles are believed to have been involved.

A large police, ambulance and fire service presence was pictured on the scene on Wednesday.
